Don’t Be Afraid To be Great!

BrotherWord - Paradoxical Commandments“The future we want — opportunity and security for our families; a rising standard of living and a sustainable, peaceful planet for our kids — all that is within our reach. But it will only happen if we work together. It will only happen if we can have rational, constructive debates. It will only happen if we fix our politics.” ~President Barack Obama – State Of the Union Address 2016

Politics aside, the aforementioned statement can apply in all facets of life.  The future you desire is very attainable, but like with many things in life, it will require fortitude, perseverance, and an ability to work with others, learn from them, and prosper despite them.

The President touched on many subjects tonight, many of which can and will be dissected and ridiculed, but no one can deny his tenacious approach dispelling the naysayers and putting all others on alert that no matter the obstacle or the challenge, he will not succumb to the barrage of attacks or turn a blind eye to the blatant disrespect or coward away from the threats.  POTUS made it very clear that no matter what may lie ahead, he is ready to go toe to toe with whatever may come.  He put the members of Congress, the American public, and the world on notice that he is not afraid to be great!

And neither should you.  Life is full of obstacles and those who will try to prevent you from reaching your prime objective, but do not be deterred.  Greatness lies in all of us and if you are not afraid to pursue it, it can be reached. In the paradoxical commandments, it speaks about pushing forward and regardless of what may arise, do it anyway!

President Barack Obama has the weight of a country on his shoulders and although none of us will know the pressure and stress that comes in such a position, we each can take solace in watching it done with elegance and grace.  Whatever challenge or challenger you face, do not be afraid to be great and despite the fear, doubts, or unreadiness, do it anyway.

“Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.”  ~ William Shakespeare

“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”  ~ Albert Einstein

If it doesn’t enrich your life, bring value, or challenge you to stretch beyond what you thought was possible, it is not needed. ~ BrotherWord

Greatness is only obtained by those that strive for it.  If you are waiting for change, waiting for opportunity, waiting for something spectacular to happen, you are fooling yourself.  Great things happen to those that prepare and position themselves to pounce when the possibility arises.

Passion fuels the fire, but preparation wins the battle.  Prepare like never before and will yourself to victory.  This is the biggest test you will ever take and you possess everything you need to triumph.  Do not accept anything but your best and do not leave it to others to do what you can do yourself.  Your circle may get smaller, but your vision will get larger.  The challenges you accept today will certainly shape your future and change you in ways unimaginable – great ways.

“You were born with potential.  You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness.  You were born with wings.  You are not meant for crawling, so don’t.   You have wings.  Learn to use them and fly.” ~ Rumi

Talent alone won’t make you a success. Neither will being in the right place at the right time, unless you are ready. The most important question is: ‘Are your ready?’ ~ Johnny Carson

Challenges in life sometimes seem overwhelming and insurmountable, but it is that same experience that shapes our character.  How we react to and handle the situation is a true testament of the person within.  What do you do when you’re faced with daunting situations?  How do you react when your dream hits a roadblock?

I’m here to tell you today that DELAY IS NOT A DENIAL!  It’s hard to accept that when you’re doing as you should, making the right moves, and handling the business at hand, that out of nowhere, something or someone comes along and derails all of your progress.  It is easy to fold up and give up, but is that really the solution, is that the person you want to become?  This is the time when you have to dig deep, remember why you started on this adventure to begin with, and muster that strength, courage, and inspiration that propelled you to embark on the journey.  Delays are an opportunity to refocus, re-examine, revitalize, and resurrect.  A delay only serves the purpose of showing you if you’re truly READY.

Are you ready for success, for triumph, for victory, for GREATNESS?  Don’t stress over the denials, the obstacles, the setbacks, or the delay, but focus on the lessons learned and what has been revealed.  Hardships are the beginning of victories.  Nothing worth having ever came easy or without struggles.  Today is the day to accept greatness; embrace it, become it, live in it.  You are great beyond measure and the victory is already yours!

“Be not afraid of greatness.  Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.” ~ William Shakespeare
