So THANKFUL for the smile within that permeates to the outside. The world did not give me my joy and it cannot take it away. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life you have a thousand reason to smile! Times may be hard and circumstances may beat you down, but despite it all, just smile. Smile through the pain, smile no matter the hardships, smile because this too shall pass, and smile because you are THANKFUL for it all. Smiling is the one gift that both the giver and receiver share alike. Take a moment to read the caption below and I guarantee when you reach the end, you cannot help but to smile.
“Smile. Let everyone know that today, you’re stronger than you were yesterday.”
“Use your smile to change the world. But don’t let this world change your smile.”
The simplest things in life are often taken for granted, yet are the most precious and vital commodities afforded to mankind. Where life takes us is a constant mystery and no one knows what tomorrow may bring or how one person can have the world in their hands and the next second can be at the mercy of all those things they had firmly in their grasp. What we do know is that often it’s not what you go through, but how you go through it. It also helps to have people who genuinely care and put forth an effort to make a difference, support, and encourage you to regain your foothold. One person took this motto to another level and provided what has to be one of the most amazing April Fool’s Prank, surprising several and bringing a bit of the finer things to their life. You never know how much the simplest of gestures can affect a person and bring about a positive change. What greater thing can you do than to bring a smile to the face of someone who has lost their smile.
Contentment does not mean settling or giving up. It is about being appreciative and THANKFUL for the here and now. It’s about finding peace with what you have and what you don’t have. One of the biggest challenges in life is being satisfied with your present situation while striving for a greater future. Don’t get bogged down with the what ifs, the could have been, or the when this or that happens, but instead relish in the moment and appreciate it for all it’s worth. Right now is where you are meant to be and the peace you feel, the inner smile of gratitude, is God’s way of letting you know that just like yesterday took care of itself, so will tomorrow. Be THANKFUL for today and find contentment in knowing that now is a great place to be. Make it a mindset to grasp the moment and express THANKFULNESS in your current state. The more we learn to seize every opportunity, the less we’ll feel we’ve let opportunities escape us – Carpe Diem!
Lose not yourself in a far off time, seize the moment that is thine. ~ Friedrich Schiller
