On this THANKFUL THURSDAY I am so thankful for love. They say love can conquer all and often times it does, but it is a healer, a comforter, and the voice of reason. Love is not secluded to a relationship or only given to others. Love also applies to one’s self. When we love ourselves we take pride in our endeavors, we are mindful of our actions, we are cautious and thoughtful with our words, we make strides to help others, we are caring and considerate; because at the end of the day, we love ourselves enough to give of ourselves and share the love we have. One small four-letter word is so powerful it can instantly change the atmosphere of a room, redirect an enemies’ charge, or sooth the most savage beast.
God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten son and with one gesture, our lives were transformed and all sins were vanquished. The power of love is transcending and transformative. When we act out of love, not only are we blessing the recipient of the act, but also building ourselves mentally and emotionally. Love can be a fickle creature at times and its glory can either consume us or revitalize us. When properly applied, it is truly God’s greatest gift.
I’m so THANKFUL for the gift of love from my family and friends, and even strangers, who thought enough to hold the door or speak a kind word. Love is a verb which means it requires action and activity. Like a train moving down the track, the more steam it picks up, the greater its power. Let love lead you and watch the influence it can have on you and those around you.
