“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” – Luke 24:5-6
What a glorious day it is! Jesus died so that I may live, making the ultimate sacrifice to cleanse the world of sin… but that’s not where the story ends. As GWMA sings, “three days later He rose again, that’s love.” How wonderful that God loved a wretch like me, an undeserving soul, to cover me with His blood so that I could also rise from my sinful ways and live a life befitting such a sacrifice.
It is never too late for any of us to resurrect our lives. Some things are meant to die and stay buried, but that does not mean you can not rise above them. That relationship that has continued to pull you down, build decay within, and is burying you alive, let it die. It is not the relationship that is sustaining your life, but in fact, sapping the life from you. You are stronger than you believe and you will rise from it. Your spirit and belief in love will be resurrected once you stop fixating on what is already dead!
The past is the past and there is nothing you can do about it but learn from it. Tomorrow will take care of itself. Fear, doubt, and regret is trying to steal your joy. The mistakes you made in the past helped to forge the building blocks of your future. Don’t let past transgressions fool you into thinking you are unworthy or undeserving; let that mindset die! You are as deserving as anyone else and it is about time you acknowledge and accept that and begin resurrecting your confidence and eagerness to strive for greatness.
So what if you didn’t get the promotion, not able to drive the car you want, or live in the house you dreamed of. What you have is sufficient and where you are in life is where you are meant to be. Enjoy it and embrace it! Bury the mentality of greed and over-indulgence and resurrect the notion of the “the more I think, the more I thank!” If you truly think about your life, you will quickly realize how great the life you have really is, how far you have come, and how exciting whatever the future holds in store for you.
Jesus was buried in a borrowed tomb, meaning He knew it would only be temporary and this too would pass. Trust and believe that no matter the circumstance or situation, it will pass. Many times it’s now what you go through, but how you go through it and the better you go through it, the quicker the lesson is learned and the shorter the duration of suffering. They thought they had broken Jesus mentally and physically. They ridiculed Him, degraded Him, crucified Him on Mount Calvary, displaying His battered body for all to see. A crown of thorns, beatings, nailed him to the cross where he suffered excruciating pain. How many times have you wanted to give up, roll over, succumb to the circumstances? DON’T! No matter what the situation, you are stronger than the situation and just like the borrowed tomb, it is only temporary. No matter how much it hurts, how painful or difficult, it cannot and will not break you if you do not allow it to. Just like Jesus, you may feel you have been forsaken, but remember, the price has already been paid on your behalf!
Stop seeking life in dead situations and rise to your rightful place.
