“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.” ~ Edward Everett Hale
The power of one’s self is quite often underestimated and discredited. We forget how powerful we are, how capable we are, how majestically we have been made. And it is not about being cocky, bragging about ourselves, or even tooting our own horn, but instead embracing our self worth and the strengths and qualities that make us unique and remarkable.
One person can literally change not only their own life, but be a catalyst for change across the world if only they believe in themselves. Despite the obstacles we encounter, rest assured you possess every tool to overcome them. The conundrum we all face is tapping into those inner skills and finding a way to translate that into a practical approach. It all starts in the same place, our thoughts. Every action begins with a simple thought, a small whisper of encouragement, a gut feeling that continually repeats itself until acknowledged and acted upon. That voice in your head is not their to nag you, but it is there to remind you who you are, push you past your fears, and help you create your destiny.
The journey of life is filled with many roads, some of which you will have to travel alone and during those journeys is where you will discover who you are and what you are capable of accomplishing. You may only be one, be one is all it takes to make a difference for it starts with a singular action from a brave soul. Every great person who has done anything significant in this world started alone, with a concept and notion that would not let them loose. They were brave enough to step out on faith and strong enough to persevere to the end. As one you may not have been able to everything, but you can do something, and with that something, your legacy will be cemented in the annals of time.
“Ambition is believing in yourself when no one else in the world does.” ~ Author Unknown
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” ~ Henry Ford
This was a great reminder to me not to underestimate myself. I can easliy give advice to others about what to do and what they can do, but I need to take my own advice sometimes too. I am an encourager. I need to push past my fears and create my own destiny. I believe it and I can do it. Whatever I set my mind to I can achieve. A good word!
