“Start strong, stay strong, and finish strong by always remembering why you’re doing it in the first place.” ~ Ralph Marston
None of what you have accomplished thus far will matter if you do not see it through. The quickest way to failure is through quitting. Finish what you start! You started because you have a purpose to fulfill, a destination to arrive at, and goals in mind. There is more to finishing than just completing the task, so make sure you finish as strong as you started.
The road may get treacherous, but that’s the beauty in travel. Treacherous roads teach survival and navigation skills, and as we travel down these roads we discover what we are truly made of. Each road brings with it a certain degree of difficulty, a new challenge, but if you turn around before you reach the end, how will you ever know what awaits you.
The road less traveled is for the brave! This road was designed for those willing to accept their calling, strong enough to face the challenges ahead, and focused on finishing. Finishing builds character and fortitude and every time you finish and complete a task, you gain strength and confidence. Finishing just like quitting becomes a character trait. Which one do you choose?
So finish strong, muster every ounce of energy and ability to accomplish what you set out to achieve. No matter how long the race or how grueling the battle, the victor is the one who finishes and does not give up! Your race has already begun. Do you stay the course and finish strong or quit before you reach the finish line?
“Starting strong is good. Finishing strong is epic! ~ Robin Sharma”
Yesterday I was enlightened with a profound word from @pastorj_higherd in which he stated, “If you want to change your reality, you have to change your mentality.” Many times we allow our thoughts to cloud our vision and ultimately, destroy our destiny. Today, that cycle ends! (more…)
: the reason why something is done or used : the aim or intention of something
: the feeling of being determined to do or achieve something
: the aim or goal of a person : what a person is trying to do, become, etc.
: the object toward which one strives or for which something exists
Each person is created with a purpose, but it is up to each individual to accept their purpose. Purpose provides clarity and direction and is essential to discovering one’s self. Ever wonder why some things come easier than others, why you’re drawn to certain aspects of life, why you become fixated? It is because your purpose is screaming to come alive and merge with your passion.
Take the time to develop your passion. It will guide you in the direction your life has been destined. The passion that boils deep within is the beginning of discovery, declaration, and determination. Discover what you’re good at, what peeks your interest. Declare to be the best you can be at it and don’t let anything or anyone discourage or deter you. Be determined that no matter what, you will see it to the end.
Today is the day that you embrace your purpose and live out your destiny!
The time is here and now! There is no better time than the present and you already have everything you need. God has blessed you with a plan and a purpose. What are you waiting for? “Perfection paralyzes potential,” as I heard a wise man state and if you’re waiting for the perfect timing, perfect situation, perfect person, then you’re only prohibiting the possibilities and prolonging a self-imposed purgatory.
That job you’re seeking, go for it! The relationship you desire, pursue it! The changes you want in your life, start making them happen. The only thing holding you back is YOU. All the excuses and doubts are no longer. The only thing that matters is reaching your goals and the actions needed to bring those goals to fruition. You are powerful beyond measure and your life’s experiences have prepared you for this moment. You are ready, so please get out of your own way.
The only moment we will ever have is the present moment. Don’t waste or forsake it and don’t wait for another moment that may never come. There are three things in life that once they are gone, you can never get back – words, opportunity, and time. Don’t waste any of them. Let your words be the blueprint that answers opportunity’s knock right on time. There are also three things in life that never fail – belief, determination, and love. Believe in yourself and be determined enough to pursue the love burning inside you NOW!
What are you willing to sacrifice to attain your dream? What lengths are you willing to go to bring your vision to life? If money was not an issue or deterrent, what would you do for a living? Whatever that answer is for you, START DOING IT RIGHT NOW! You know your purpose and have a glimpse of the destiny ahead. Stop letting bumps destroy the dream. Pain is a good thing at times; it reminds us that we’re alive and we can overcome. Embrace the challenges, the obstacles, and the perils of life. They are temporary and they are building blocks to better your future. Whatever it is that has been ignited in your soul, take control of that fire and let it simmer. The hotter it gets, like gold, the better you shine; like a hot air balloon, the higher you rise; and like a volcano, the greater you erupt. Today is the day to become all you know you can be and to take hold of your own destiny!“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.” ~ Vince Lombardi “When I dare to be powerful – to use my strength in the service of my vision – then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” ~ Audre Lorde
The RockWhen God made you, he already had a plan; He called you to conquer and be ruler of all the lands. He made you king, priest, protector, and provider; He said after Himself, no one came higher. Chiseled from the rock of Gibraltar and laced with the armor of the most holy; He placed on you to be a server of men and savior of souls, so they too could witness His glory. From your rib, thought became flesh and God’s purpose fulfilled; To every man, woman and child, his grace and mercy revealed. You were charged with building families, communities and futures yet to come; No one could imagine the magnitude or the stress, but everyday you rose to the challenge and victory was won. Today and everyday we salute our fathers; Everyday is a new challenge, and everyday it seems to get harder. They say mama’s baby and daddy’s maybe; But just maybe if daddy had his daddy, it would be less maybes and better babies. Being a father has nothing to do with planting a seed in fertile ground; But everything to do with watching that seed grow and sticking around. It’s easy to make a child, two willing partners, a bit of science and God’s miracle is birth; But being a father, going through the ups and downs, nurturing, disciplining, loving, and being a constant presence, is how you show your true worth. F.A.T.H.E.R. – Faithful servant following God’s will and leading and loving his family with all his might; Attentive to all our needs and wants, never losing focus of the bigger picture in sight. Teacher, counselor, and disciplinarian making sure we learn life’s lessons and prepares us for the day we take their place; Hero and healer who protects us from harm’s way and would give their life in an instant to make sure we remain safe. Everything – Her first love, his first example, and the epitome of what every occurrence will be measured against and compared to; Redeemer because when we fail, he will be there to help us up, encourage us to carry on, and remind us that he once failed and that’s how he grew. He is Father by choice and not because of obligation or duty, He chose and accepted his role and has stood tall because to him, it’s God’s greatest assignment and display of beauty. Whether biological or those that rose to the occasion and filled in the gap, A special salute to all for what you do in silence, behind the scenes, when no one else would, to you I tip my hat. Thank you dads for loving us in the worst of times and the best of times each and every day, But no matter what, being a man led by faith, man of integrity, allowing us to grow and catching us when we fall, and being there when we wake up or at least a phone call away. Any man can be a baby’s daddy, make a child, never look back, someone that child will not remember; But it’s takes a man to be a Father, help that child grow, raise an adult and don’t have to look back because they’re always front and center. Immovable, unshakeable, not easily broken, and massive in ways that can’t be measured; You’re our rock and cornerstone and our cherished treasure. © Happy Father’s Day!
Beginning any venture is challenging and there will be many struggles and obstacles along the way. Stay the course, maintain the vision, and work through it all. No one ever said it would be easy or without challenges. If that was the case, everyone would do it and there wouldn’t be anything unique about you or special about your vision. What you possess is beyond measure and it was birthed in you because ONLY you can bring it to fruition. The DREAM only gets bigger and the more you believe, the more you achieve! Start today by remembering what first excited you, what spark that interest, and why you’re doing what you’re doing. Remember the purpose requires process and sometimes the process causes problems, but even problems lead to prosperity. Your only limitation is your imagination. Keep dreaming and keep believing!
“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” ~ Frederick Douglas
Ever thought what if or if only I would have done this or that? We all have had those moments when we wished we can turn back the hands of time and have a do-over, a Mulligan. The thing with do-overs are that it doesn’t guarantee we’ll get the desired outcome. Instead of dwelling on the past, wishing to do something over, be THANKFUL for today and all it offers. Today gives us the opportunity to make all our wishes come true, because truth be told, all we have control over is the here and now. Wouldn’t it be great to make today the best day it possibly can be? Take advantage of all that today brings to the table and watch how prosperous today will become. Be THANKFUL for the big and the small and everything in between. When we appreciate the present (today), we see the value in yesterday (history), and are not only prepared, but have a joyful expectation for what tomorrow (mystery) will offer. Practice being THANKFUL for where you are, what you have, and what you’ve gone through. These are the building blocks for the mind and soul that gives peace and purpose. It soothes, teaches, and prepares us for the next phase. THANKFUL on purpose and with a purpose, today and everyday!
What are you THANKFUL for today? Who can you share your THANKFULNESS with? Can BrotherWord help you discover or re-discover being THANKFUL on purpose? Send your THANKFUL expressions, questions, and thoughts to BrotherWord in the comment section or at BrotherWord34@gmail.com.
Today, I am most THANKFUL for the struggle. Through struggle I discovered that I am greater than imagined and the only limitations I have are those that I impose on myself. I am capable beyond measure and with obstacles, we gain experience and with experience, we build wisdom and wisdom translates into inner peace and greater understanding. For that I am most grateful and because of that, I hope to share my experiences and knowledge with as many as I can. Life is never promised to be without strife, turmoil, or rainy days. But it does promise to be adventurous, ever-changing, challenging and when seen properly, it can offer everything one desires and so much more. Today, I am thankful for the heartaches, downfalls, trials, and all things thought to be bad that have led to victory, growth, newfound awareness, and fortified my purpose in life!
What are you thankful for today and how has life’s challenges shaped you into the person you are now?
