Arms Too Short to Box With God

BrotherWord - Arms Too Short

Life can present itself as one trial after another and it may seem like those that have no conscious, no moral values or an ethical bone in their body, are the ones that are constantly prospering.  It is at this moment that we began to grow weary, challenge our Savior, and question Christ’s purpose for our lives.

A Conversation With God is an example of how the spirit gets heavy and we began to wonder why God allows us to go through certain things and why He allows the enemy to attack, or why even when we are following His will, we sometimes fall short.  Don’t fear or lose hope.  (Romans 9:17-20) For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”  So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen.  Well then, you might say, “Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven’t they simply done what he makes them do?”  No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, “Why have you made me like this?”

Even when we don’t understand or cannot see it, God is working behind the scenes to better us, to strengthen us, to propel us to new heights, and to prepare us for greater.  (Ephesians 2:10) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.  When in doubt, when confused, when you are at your wit’s end and wondering why God has forsaken you, why He has allowed this transgression to take place, and you are challenging His every word, remember – (Jeremiah) 29:11) For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. – and know that all will be well.
