With a new year comes new hopes and new objectives, but what derails many is that they lose that initial gusto because their goals become unrealistic and unattainable. Here are 5 tips to get 2014 starting off on the right foot.
1.) Stop expecting from others what you are not willing to give yourself.
2.) The only way to truly make a change is to accept things for what they are and learn to operate in spite of.
3.) Start each day with a positive attitude; how you think is how you perceive life.
4.) Take time to enjoy the simple things in life. It makes the major events much more manageable and less stressful.
5.) Very few things are as dire as they first appear. Take a breath to digest the moment, then react.
These are not your typical resolutions, but more like building blocks to carry you not only through this year, but life. Take time to think about these 5 tips and how they apply to your life. I promise if you are honest with yourself, you will find several truths within and how these tips speak to your life.
Over the next few days, I will expound on the tips and show life applications for each; we may even see a few more tips. In the meantime, here’s a bonus tip: The more you THINK, the more you THANK. Focus on the things in life in which you are thankful for and stop becoming so fixated on the past, things beyond your control, and temporary issues. Life is grand oasis that is waiting to be explored and if it is perceived with a positive mindset, its treasures are priceless!
