Motivational Monday

BrotherWord - MotivationalMonday

I can not over-emphasize the importance of having the right people around you.  It is not about those that will agree with you always or tag along for the sake of being involved, but it is about a small, cohesive crew of like-minded individuals who will challenge and push you to optimize your potential.  Progression, not regression is the key.

#IRunWithLions talked about the type of friends we associate ourselves with and how they build us up, support us, and even correct us in love when necessary.  The only way that is possible is if your team believes in your dream.  You can not share your vision with everyone as not everyone will be as forward thinking or unafraid to fail as you may be.  Beware of the dream killers who will try to tarnish your vision or persuade you to abandon your dream.  Those without the same drive will try all they can to keep you stuck with them, trapped in the quicksand going nowhere.

Today is the day when you weed out the wannabes and discover the prospects of the future.  Build a team of go-getters, revolutionaries, inventors, those that fear the possibilities of failure, but are still brave enough to try anyway.  The saying holds true that you are reflective of those you surround yourself with.  Are you surrounding yourself with lions or sheep?  Pioneers or those that are satisfied with the status quo?

“If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together.” ~ African Proverb

How far do you want to go and who do you want with you when you reach the mountaintop?  Remember, those with you can either boost you higher, supporting you as you climb and pulling you up when you stumble, or like crabs in a barrel, can trip you and pull you down every time you try to achieve new heights.

One person can cause a ripple, but together, the movement is a force to be reckoned with that spreads like a wave that covers and transforms lives, affects change, and brings about a new era.

“Individually we are one drop.  Together we are an ocean.” ~ Ryunosuke Satoro
