In the wake of the tragedy in Moore, Ok. earlier this week it is easy to succumb to the destruction and disaster that has shaken that community. It’s another catastrophic event that reminds us of the frailty of life. All of our prayers collectively go out and as a nation, we will support our brethren and restore what has been broken, whether its houses, schools, communities, or spirits. And here lies the beauty and all that we have to be THANKFUL for. Dire situations bring out the best in all of us and show the character of our fellow man. Look at the outpouring from around the country, listen to the citizens in Moore who despite the mass destruction around them, have continued to express how THANKFUL they still remain. It warms BrotherWord’s heart to see the spirit of THANKFULNESS shine through the worst of situations and people from all around the world, from all races & ethnicities, reaching out to lend whatever aid is necessary. From first responders, to national aid organizations, to professional athletes and entertainers, to John Q has made strives to let Moore, Ok. know we stand with them.
If the community of Moore can find hope in the eye of the storm, we too can find hope in the midst of our tragedies. Rainbows only happen where there is rain. So, when life rains on your day and brings a storm into your world, remember the sun shall rise and your future is brighter than your past! Being THANKFUL is a mindset and choosing to find the beauty in an ugly situation, the hope in despair, and the light in darkness is a trait we all possess and prayerfully take advantage of more often than not. Today and everyday, choose THANKFULNESS and watch your storm go away and your world shine!
